Sardinia, Italy – Orlando Bloom, 39, was photographed by paparazzi while vacationing in the Italian island of Sardinia.
In a twist of events, Bloom decided to take off his swimming trunks and go paddle boarding, while his girlfriend, Katy Perry, 31, sat on the table’s front. The censored images appeared in The Daily Star and The New York Daily News, making herds of fans search for the uncensored version. One could argue it was Orlando Bloom and not Kim Kardashian the one that broke the internet.
The search for the uncensored pictures
Over the course of the hours, hundreds of fans turned to Twitter to vent out their ‘frustration’ against the little black box that censors the images.
The media has taken the issue in a light-hearted manner. For example, E! News gathered tweets that joke about the pictures and Perry’s new single ‘Rise’.
Others, like the Daily Telegraph, claimed the situation was ‘amusing.’ However, many are also criticizing the pictures and the search, denouncing the situation as ‘sexist’.
Some have stated if Perry would have been the one photographed nude, the reaction would have been extremely different.
Twitter user @NebNoswal wrote “Switch *Orlando Bloom* with a *Random female celebrity* and it’s a horrible invasion of privacy. Just saying’”
Bloom and Perry met at the 2016 Golden Globes ceremony in January and had been inseparable since then. At the Cannes Film Festival and the Met Gala the couple was seen together.
In July, the actor joined Perry at the Democratic National Convention.
Orlando Bloom vs. Justin Bieber
Back in 2012, Bieber partied with Bloom’s then-wife, supermodel Miranda Kerr, after a Victoria Secret’s fashion show in New York City.
Then, in 2014, Bloom was vacationing in Ibiza when he found Bieber at a restaurant.
Apparently, Bieber made an inappropriate comment regarding Kerr, and Bloom responded by throwing him a punch, which he decked out, and then walked away.
Hours after, Bieber uploaded a picture of Kerr in a bathing suit in his Instagram, and later on, put up another picture of Bloom, where the actor appears to be crying.
Bieber’s own nude pictures
In 2015, Bieber was vacationing, this time in Bora Bora, with model Jayde Pierce.
Bieber was also photographed nude by paparazzi while exiting his bungalow in the resort he was staying at. And once again, the The New York Daily Times published the censored pictures.
However, in this case, the uncensored version leaked and spread through the internet. At first, Bieber stated he felt ‘violated’ over the whole deal, but has joked about it afterward.
Miranda Kerr’s engagement
In 2013, Bloom and Kerr, 33, divorced, and in 2015, began dating Snapchat CEO and cofounder Evan Spiegel, 26.
On July 20 this year, Kerr used social media to reveal happy news. In her Instagram, she posted a picture of her engagement ring, surrounded by Snapchat filters with the caption ‘I said yes!!!’
In an interview to The Edit, Kerr spoke happily about the relationship, claiming it was very calm and mature since Spiegel ‘acts like he’s 50’, and stating he goes to work every day and then comes back home.
According to Kerr, the pair never goes out, staying at home and going to bed early. Kerr and Bloom have a seven-year-old son called Flynn.
Katy Perry vs. Taylor Swift
From 2009 to 2011 both singers were cordial to each other. Swift dated John Mayer, and then, in 2012 Perry became his girlfriend.
Afterward, Swift hired three of Perry’s tour dancers for her Red album tour. While working for Swift, the dancers were called by Perry’s agents, who ask them to perform for Perry’s Prism album.
According to one dancer, Lockhart Brownlie, they all agreed, leaving Swift’s tour before it was finished.
“Obviously, we were with Katy for two and a half years; she’s like family to us. So we were, like, ‘Absolutely’. We weren’t dancing on Taylor’s tour anyway, so I had got a little bored, and I wanted to do a promo tour” claimed Brownlie.
Swift unfollowed the dancers on Twitter and removed them from her tour in retaliation.
Then, in 2010, Swift was interviewed by Rolling Stone, revealing that her famous video ‘Bad Blood’ was a real-life conflict with a ‘well-known music artist’ and that the two were ‘straight-up enemies.’
Swift continued to victimize herself on the interview, stating that she was never sure if the two were friends, or if she was constantly ‘harshly insulted’ by the singer.
Fans noticed she referred to Perry when she claimed that the musician had tried to ‘sabotage the entire area tour’, by hiring Swift’s ‘people.’
For a couple of years both have managed to avoid answering direct questions about the issue, but when Swift and Calvin Harris broke up, the latter tweeted he was not ‘like Katy.’
Perry herself tweeted an animated GIF of Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton that left no doubts about the issue.
