On Sunday, an unknown suspect shot Tim Remington, a local pastor, after Ted Cruz’s campaign rally where the victim was conducting a prayer for the Republican presidential candidate. The pastor was found next to the Altar Church in Coeur d’Alene with multiple gunshot wounds, said officials from the local police.
Remington is currently in stable condition after he had to undergone surgery to treat the gunshot wounds, according to Detective Jared Reneau of the Coeur d’Alene Police Department. Remington is currently resting at Kootenai Health and is expected to make a full recovery, thanks to the rapid response from authorities.
Pastor Tim Remington was born in Riverside California and moved to Coeur d’Alene 48 years ago, where he had lived peacefully until recent events, alongside his wife and four children. He has been the Senior Pastor of the Altar Church for almost 20 years, without any shooting incidents recorded up until now.
Police need to increase its efforts to prevent any kind of shooting from happening, considering Pastor Remington was shot in the back four times as he headed out his church around 2 p.m. in broad daylight. It’s significant to find the responsible for shooting Tim Remington in the back not only to bring the suspect to justice but also to figure out why someone would shot an innocent pastor.
Coeur d’Alene Manhunt
Due to the fact that the shooting took place only a day after Senator Ted Cruz visited for a praying ceremony led by Remington himself, it’s possible the attack was targeted to the Republican presidential candidate. Authorities claim that the only suspect found so far has been identified as Kyle Andrew Odom.
Kyle was last seen around the parking lot where the pastor got gunned down driving a silver Honda Accord with Idaho plates. Police officials from the Coeur d’Alene Police department said 30-year-old Kyle Odom is presumed of shooting Remington in the back four times and them fleeing the crime scene.

Although he has not been captured as of Monday morning, Odom should be considered armed and dangerous, officials said. He was described as a 6-feet tall man weighing about 170 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes. And even though he’s still on the loose, authorities are working to obtain an arrest warrant for suspect Kyle Odom.
“Our prayers are with Pastor Time, his family, and the doctors who are supervising his care,” said Cruz’s campaign spokeswoman Catherine Frazier to NBC News. “We pray for his full recovery and are thankful for the efforts of law enforcement to ensure the attacker is swiftly brought to justice.”
