Statham highlighted his tough guy looks at Le Mans 24 hour car race last Saturday. He donned a black T-shirt and a leather jacket, all tied together with a pair of gray suede boots.
It was a rainy day as the No.2 Porsche 919 secured victory as there were three minutes and 21 seconds left in the race. Expectations were set on No.5 Toyota TS 050 as it managed to perform outstandingly well during the whole race until it had to carry out a pit stop as it was nearing the finish line.
Toyota would have become the second Japanese car manufacturer ever to win the 24-hour race. The 2016 edition of Le Mans has earned Porshe its 18th victory as a car constructor. The No.8 Audi R18 secured the final seat in the finalists’ podium.
Brad Pitt also made an appearance at Le Mans.
Statham met Jackie Chang, who was wearing a white racing team jacket, along with a pair of jeans with his name on his thigh.
Brad Pitt also made an appearance as he was the official starter on Saturday’s racing event as he waved the checkered flag under a rainy sky.
The 24 Hours of Le Mans is the oldest sports car race. It has been celebrated since 1923 in the proximity of Le Mans, France. It is highly regarded as the “Grand Prix of Endurance of Efficiency.” Racers have to cover over 5,000 km, while the record is 5,410km, 18 times longer than a Formula One Grand Prix. Three drivers share each vehicle over the course of the race.
Porsche driver Brendon Hartley managed to take the lead within the first hours of Le Mans. Audi’s Loic Duval made a move and competed with Hartley for the position. But eventually, Hartley excelled and went to fight against Mike Conway for the first place.
Hartley went to the pits, to which Conway seized the opportunity and sped up to try and increase the gap between them. But Conway was forced to head on to the pits as his car started to break down. Just seconds behind was the driver of Porsche’s 919, Neel Jani, who managed to secure the victory.
Patrick Dempsey was also seen in the scene wearing the attire of a race car driver. He served as an ambassador for the event.
This year’s Le Mans was particularly gratifying for its audience. Many reviewers argue that commentators were spot on throughout the whole competition. The race brings together many people, and it sustains a significant amount of investment. It is not strange to see such a level of involvement from the audience, the racing teams, and the always-present celebrities that attend the circuit.

The circuit is known as Circuit de la Sarthe. It uses closed local roads and specialized racing tracks for the 24-hour race. At first, competing vehicles managed to reach speeds of up to 252 mph, but recent safety measures and shorter length of straights, top speeds now usually reach around 205 mph. Le Mans’ most famous segment is the Mulsanne Straight, which has a longitude of 3.7 miles.
