Rocket League, the popular vehicle-soccer game with futuristic aesthetics, is getting an update that includes items conversion and trading. In the game, players pick up items during sessions and across the levels, being common that a player collects several objects of the same category, or the same item several times. Those extra things have never played a role, until now.

Players that are equipped with futuristic and powerful vehicles get engaged in soccer matches and can explore the game to find items that are classified by level or rarity. The updated developed by Psyonix includes the possibility to trade five items from one rarity tier for one item thing from a different tier.

The goal is to make the game more dynamic and exciting to players. At least making them involve with the elements in a fun way.

The Item Trading system

There will be another update to offer players the possibility to trade items with other players on the line. The player-to-player trading system allows users to interact with each other, to discuss what items they want to exchange and switch them in the game.

According to the Psyonix developers, some items will become more valuable once circulating in the trading system, and it will be an appreciated feature since players can get rid of duplicate items and strategically trade objects. The company released a note on their official web page that stated:

We’re adding a new set of item drops that are only obtainable through online matches, including themed items inspired by our “meta” theme to be revealed later this week (it’s a surprise, you’ll love it), rare decals for cars, and some very rare new Boost trails! “Rare” and “Very Rare” items obey the same rules that our “Uncommon” drops do”.

About Psyonix

The company is based in San Diego, California, and it develops video games and other kinds of multimedia software. Psyonix won about $70 million with Rocket League, the major video game developed by the company so far. The game was released initially for Windows and PlayStation in 2015, but later a version compatible with Xbox One and Linux was released.

Psyonix made an effort to get some of the major companies in the video game industry to link its technology with big providers of game platforms. In the enterprise, there are a lot of experts in multiplayer gaming that provide services to leading game publishers and developers. Epic Games, EA Games, Microsoft Game Studios, Codemasters, Atari, Nvidia, BioWare and Sony Computer Entertainment are on the clients’ list of Psyonix. They have developed a lot of research on Unreal Engine Technology, which is a complex system of tools for game developers and publishers to create gaming platforms.

The company has the trend to work with futuristic game sets. Rocket League is the most popular among them, but Bulletstorm and ARC Squadron are futuristic action video games that won awards in the gaming industry.
