Michael Bublé and his wife Luisana Lopilato are devastated after announcing their 3-year-old son Noah has been diagnosed with cancer. However, they remain hopeful and are getting the boy the best care possible in the United States, as a source close to the family told U.S. Weekly. The parents canceled their professional activities to look after their oldest son.

In a statement posted on his Facebook page, Michael said they hope to win the tough battle with the support of their family, friends, fans around the world and their faith in God. He also asked everyone to pray for Noah and respect the family’s privacy by not speculating about the kid’s diagnosis or treatment.

Argentinian website La Nación reported that the family was told of the terrible diagnosis after taking Noah to doctors with a suspected case of the mumps. The little boy is a fighter, as a friend of Michael told reporters.

Some news articles and fans speculated that the kid had leukemia, but Luisana’s sister, Daniela Lopilato, denied those reports and revealed Noah’s central nervous system had not been affected by the cancer. She added that the entire family was heartbroken by the diagnosis. Daniela is a renowned nutritionist and actress in her spare time.

“To tell you the truth I’m devastated. This is very recent. The only thing I ask is that you don’t speculate because not everyone has children and can understand what this means,” Daniela Lopilato told an Argentinian TV show via text message.

Daniela concluded that her sister and Michael would publish more statements about Noah’s progress and that she couldn’t say anymore.

A family man before anything else

The proud father told US Weekly during a recent interview that he was defined by being a dad and a family man, not by his artistic career and his numerous awards. He also talked about how his nine-month-old baby Eli was nearly walking his and that Spider-Man was Noah’s current obsession. Moreover, the Canadian singer said fatherhood had given him a great perspective and to realize what was more important to him.

In October, he told Entertainment Tonight’s Jennifer Peros that it was hard for him to quantify the level of love he had for his children.

“I didn’t know that level of love existed. But it makes me better at everything,” Bublé expressed. “It allows me to pull more emotion and be more honest and to be in the moment.”

Bublé pointed out that he would love to have more kids. Talking about the fears fatherhood brings, he opened up about how scared he usually felt because he loved his children so much that he couldn’t even think of his life without them.

The 41-year-old singer recently released Nobody But Me, his seventh studio album. He told Entertainment Weekly that it really was his best album so far.
