The tech company giant responsible for changing the way the world saw personal computers and smartphones is turning 40 today, as it was officially founded on April 1, 1976.

Apple’s 40th anniversary comes in what it seems as the most promising year for the tech company due to the company’s plans for next releases including Apple Watch, Apple TV, and new iPhone models.

It all started when three young men, led by Steve Jobs back then, decided to start Apple Computers in a garage at Los Altos, California. For its 40th anniversary, Apple released on Friday a video honoring its founders and the most important contributions to technology, humorously lasting only 40 seconds.

Steve Jobs played maybe the most significant role when Apple started to gain recognition worldwide for its innovations in the technology market. Some people still describe Jobs’ presentation of the first iPhone as a magic trick, where he only harnessed the audience’s imagination on all the features that a phone could hold, and then doing it himself.

Apple revolutionized the technologic world ever since the announcement of the iPod, then the iPhone, and now, all the variety of products that had its origins in a humble garage in California back in the 70s.

Backing up 10 years ago, the idea of a touch screen phone able to play videos, songs, navigate the web, download content and record high-quality video was a far-fetched idea. After Apple’s iPhone, the tech industry took a rather violent shift, as the introduction of the first smartphone boosted the technological appliances on almost every device.

Now, Apple has come a long way from its humble beginnings, as the company is set to release four iPhone models in the ongoing year. The tech giant has also taken different paths, all trails leading to innovation in technology, with devices such as Apple TV as well as the Apple Watch.

Both of these devices are planned to reach the leading sales in the U.S. for the next year, and considering the Apple Watch has already made a breakthrough in the medical field, it seems as if there’s no stopping Apple.

It’s most sizeable contribution could very well be the MacBook models and how Apple computers have raised the bar for every other computer company in the world. There is no saying where Apple will be in upcoming years, but it will surely be ahead of technological innovation.
