“Building a stable business in the U.S. market continues to be an important area of focus in helping Sony Mobile pursue profit by optimizing business scale. We are excited about the introduction of Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact unlocked in the U.S., particularly as we see a growing trend in the unlocked market,” Sony stated.

Probably one of the biggest features these gadgets offer is a 23-megapixel rear camera, but they also include many other special features including, a PlayStation 4 Remote Play for use over a Wi-Fi network that you will be able to use for a long time as the handset offers up to two days of battery life.

The Xperia Z5 has 5.2-inch Full HD 1080p display powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor and 3GB of RAM. It also has 32GB of internal storage expandable via microSD, 5MP front camera, 23MP rear camera, NFC support, 4G LTE, and curiously enough, Android 5.1 Lollipop instead of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. On the other hand, the Xperia Z5 Compact is a little smaller with a 4.6-inch display sporting a regular HD (720p) resolution. It is also powered by a 64-bit Snapdragon 810 SoC but it has 2GB of RAM instead of 3GB.

Xperia handsets are widely known for their waterproof design. These newest models carry a rating of IP65 and IP68 for water and dust resistance, meaning you don’t have to panic if it starts to rain. Sony says you can even rinse off your device under a faucet, just be sure that all ports and covers are firmly closed.

Both smartphones come with Hi-Res Audio, digital noise cancellation, and automatic headset compensation. With each of them you can download three movies for free, including Sony Pictures’ The Walk and Hotel Transylvania 2. Users will be able to choose from a variety of colors, the Xperia Z5 comes in black, white, gold, and green, while the compact version is available in black, white, coral, and yellow.
