Sir Paul McCartney performed on Friday, July 8, as part of the lineup of the SummerFest in Milwaukee. After the 40 min show, fans were going crazy, and music critics are celebrating the ex-Beatles performance.

The 74-year-old singer has been in the music industry since the Beatlemania started in the early 1960s. Yet, McCartney has managed to stay relevant on modern days and fill stadiums with his unique performances.

This year’s Summerfest had a wide variety of performances. From Jason Derulo, Panic! At The Disco, Peter Gabriel, Pitbull, Selena Gomez to the ex-Beatle Paul McCartney.

McCartney’s performance marked his return to the United States, with his One on One tour, which started in April and in which he will be visiting North America, South America, and Europe.

Returning to American stages

The singer hopped on the Summerfest stage with his Beatle-looking guitar to perform a 38 song repertoire. His last performance on Milwaukee was back in 2013, where fans went crazy with his sublime performance.

The singer managed to top the 2013 performance, performing Friday at the Marcus Amphitheater and giving fans 40 minutes of his original pieces and some of the Beatles classics.

“Across a 38-song, two hour-and-40-minute set, McCartney came close to matching the impossible thrill of his precious Milwaukee engagement – from his giddy little dances after ‘Band on the Run’ to ‘Let Me Roll It,’” said Top Milwaukee reporter Piet Levy.

At the middle of the performance McCartney played some Beatles classics such as “Hey Jude” and “Let it Be,” including several guitar covers of worldwide known Jimi Hendrix.

The 74-year-old singer also performed his latest hit “FourFiveSeconds” produced along Rihanna and Kanye West, along with his songs “Save Us,” and “Queenie Eye.”

Other songs performed by McCartney included, “HI,HI,HI,” “Birthday,” “Carry That Weight,” “Live and Let Die,” “Band on the Run,” “Eleonor Rigby,” “Lady Madonna,” “The Fool in the Hill,” “Back in the U.S.S.R.,” among others.

The singer even invited a pair of father and daughter up to the stage, who were dressed as Sergeant Pepper’s cover. McCartney later joked about it on his Twitter account by saying they had found “El Chapo.”

McCartney’s performance left fans amazed and loving the ex-Beatle even more, and social media didn’t stop to show this feeling. The singer will be performing on July 20 at the Cincinnati U.S Bank Arena and will move on to Philadelphia and Boston afterwards.
