Odin Sphere is a 2D-RPG action game first released in 2007 by Vanillaware. An HD remake, called Odin Sphere Leifthrasir, was released in Japan in January 2016, and the developers said the international version will be in the market by June this year. The new remastered version brought much more than better graphics and audio. According to reviews, there are 2 playing modes: classical and the remastered which include new sequences, monsters, equipment and more!
The game takes gamers to Erion, a mystical land where a lot of different races coexist. In this land, there is a reign called Valentine which holds a mysterious and powerful energy called “The Cauldron” which keeps the world under control. People from Valentine have mastered magic, and they have managed to maintain order in the land of Erion with the help of the cauldron. However, the city is ravaged in one night, and nobody knows who or even what happened.
The city fell, but the cauldron is still there, and every major reign in the world wants to control it. The scenario is set for the prophecy of the Armageddon, which says a war will bring an end to the world.
The game beings in an attic library where a little girl called Alice and her cat, Socrates, open a very book that contains the story of Erion and the prophecy of Armageddon. As she goes through the book, she discovers five main characters, all representing a different faction of the conflict.
Along with a very rich and compelling story, all the main characters possess a psypher weapon. These weapons are made out of crystals stolen from the underworld. These crystals have the ability to absorb the energy of a defeated monster, and they also give their masters capacity to command powerful magic, including a bow, a sword, a chain and more. They all have unique features and the characters sport very complex and varied fighting styles according to their weapon.
Psyphers spread all over the world after Odin stole the crystals from the underworld, and many of them are in the hands of the people seeking the power of the cauldron. Gamers will have the opportunity to control at least five characters: Gwendolyn, Cornelius, Mercedes, Oswald, and Velvet. They all have a chapter that let gamers explore their stories, and once they are completed, two more chapters will be accessible. Love, power and betrayal: this classic has it all.

There is something for everyone. For people who just want to play a prettier version of the game, there is the “classic mode” which does not have any alteration in the gameplay. Classic lovers will be able to play a remastered version of the game they fell in love back in 2007. However, the game also has a newly remastered mode, and the developers promised fans will be gladly surprised.
Atlus announced a new saving option which will let players switch between a Ps4, Ps3 or the Ps Vita without having to re-start over and over again. The Nordic based RPG is already in pre-order.
