McDonald’s was right after all, the “Hamburglar” is real. A man broke into a Five Guys Restaurant in Washington DC, but he didn’t steal any money from it, he stole burgers.

The incident occurred in the early morning hours in between the 3:10am to 5:05 on March 18th on Irving Street Northwest.

The DC Metropolitan Police Department said in a statement, “A suspect followed a delivery man into the restaurant and waited until the delivery man left. Then this man rummaged through the establishment, cooked some food, and stole bottled water before leaving the restaurant”.

Trying to find this “hungry burglar”, the police released surveillance footage that shows the man grabbing a beverage from the restaurant, then going to the kitchen – even cleaning his hands before cooking – talking on a cell phone and cooking a couple of cheeseburgers, but there is no footage of him eating the “loot”.

The DC Police is still asking the public’s help to identify this man. No arrest has been made and the case still remains under investigation.

Another One Bites the Burger

This man was definitely craving a burger, but until now, the unofficial title of the “Greatest Five Guys burger craving of all-time” is for top golfer Phil Mickelson who headed to Five Guys for six straight days after his round of golf. Mickelson said that this place is so good that he can’t stop going there.

Mickelson said he grew up on In-n-Out and thought that they had the best burgers until he had one of Five Guys’.

“That is hands down the best burger I’ve ever had”, said Mickelson.
