Hamza bin Laden, the son of Osama bin Laden, the al-Qaeda leader, has threatened revenge against the United States for killing his father. The threat was made in an audio clip posted online by the terrorist organization’s media outlet, As-Sahab, according to the Inquisitr.

The SITE Intelligence Group, a U.S. organization that monitors terrorist communication around the world, said that the 21-minute speech is entitled “We Are All Osama.” In the audio message, Hamza bin Laden promises to continue his father’s original plan to fight against the United States and its allies, Reuters reports.

Hamza says that al Qaeda will continue striking the United States in their land and abroad, in response to U.S. oppression of the people of Palestine, Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Somalia and the rest of the Muslim territories that did not survive the American oppression.

He added that for the revenge by the Islamic nation for Sheik Osama, the revenge is not for Osama but for those who defend Islam.

Hamza bin Laden is understood to be aged around 24 and was first introduced by the organization’s chief Ayman al-Zawahiri in a similar audio message in 2015. Reuters says that senior leaders have struggled to inspire new recruits to the Qaeda cause because of the presence of the Islamic State. Hamza represents a young voice to improve al Qaeda’s campaign to encourage new militants.

Bruce Riedel of Brookings Institution, says that Hamza is the new face of al Qaeda, and he directly connects the group with his former leader. Riedel added that Hamza is an “articulated and dangerous enemy.” Brookings is a nonprofit public policy organization that conducts in-depth research regarding social problems at local, national and global level.

Brookings reports that Hamza bin Laden was next to his father n Afganistan before the 9/11 attacks. They spent time together in Pakistan after the U.S. invaded the country at pressured at al Qaeda’s senior leadership.

Hamza has appeared in al Qaeda’s videos as a young boy. He was featured on an extremist website on the third anniversary of the 7/7 bombings in London, which killed 52, says Sunday Express.

An American military operation spotted Osama bin Laden at his temporary residence in Abbottabad in Pakistan. The Inquisitr reports that Hamza’s mother was one of Osama’s three wives who were with him when he was assassinated. Her name was Khairiah Sabar, and she was from Saudi Arabia.

The Inquisitr also says that Osama bin Laden counted on his son capabilities, especially after the death of his older son, Saad, who died in a U.S. drone attack. Among the letters found in Osama’s room after his encounter with the U.S. military, David Ignatius from the Washington Post says Hamza was mentioned in his father’s. Ignatius says that Osama bin Laden desired that his son would be educated as a religious scholar in Qatar so he cannot deny the wrong and the suspicions raised around Jihad.

The Sunday Express says that last year the U.S. published documents that were found in Osama’s compound which showed that the leaders aides were trying to reunite him with his son who was being held under house arrest in Iran.
Bin Laden’s son is thought to be living in Iran now, says the Inquisitr.
