NBA Finals ended on Sunday, 19th June, but Taco Bell and its promotion “Steal a game, steal a taco” was available Tuesday in every Taco Bell in the United States. According to terms and conditions published on the company’s site, a “Stolen Game” occurs if either team in the 2016 NBA Finals series wins a road game at the home arena of the other.

Delivering free tacos after the end of the NBA competition has its reasons. In the terms and conditions of the promotion is said that if the Stolen Game occurred during Game 1, Game 2, or Game 3, the “Redemption Date” (the day of the promotion) would be on Wednesday, June 15. But, if the Stolen Game was in Game 4, Game 5, Game 6 or Game 7, the promotion will be on Tuesday, June 21.

The team that won at its rival’s arena was the Golden State Warriors. They played against the Cleveland Cavaliers on June 10 on Game 4 The score was Warriors 108, Cavaliers 97. This victory is the reason for free tacos at any Taco Bell in America.

But the Mexican food company is not given away any taco. The promotion was valid for 1 Doritos Locos taco, which usually sells for $1.49.

To get a free Doritos Locos taco, it is not necessary to buy something at the restaurant, and all citizens of the 50 states of the United States were eligible for this reward. The promotion was valid at 2:00 p.m to 6:00 p.m (local time), while supplies last.

Taco Bell knew the beginning of the promotion through social media and its website.

It is important to highlight that this promotion was not produced, sponsored, administered or executed by any NBA Entity, according to the company’s site.

The game that made free tacos possible 

The Golden State Warriors’ 108-97 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers made possible a free taco day at Taco Bell and ironically, in Game 7, the roles were swift, and now the Cavs hold the 2016 NBA champion title.

Game 4 was on June 10 at the Quicken Loans Arena, in Cleveland.

According to the NBA’s website, this is the first time in franchise history that Cleveland Cavaliers are NBA Champions. After defeating the Golden State Warriors in the Finals by a score of 93-89, the team brought home the Larry O’Brien Trophy to Cleveland. The victory happened in Game 7, making it the first time in NBA history that any team has won the NBA championship in spite of a 3-1 deficit.

The 2016 Cavaliers NBA Championship parade and rally will be celebrated in downtown Cleveland on Wednesday, June 22, in partnership with the City of Cleveland.

At the game, LeBron James’ triple-doubled and his teammate Kyrie Irving’s 3 points made possible the victory for the Cleveland Cavaliers at Oracle Arena. This championship is the first one to be win by the team after 52 years.  NBA reported.
