Master of None’s actor Aziz Ansari, winner of a 2018 Golden Globe Award, was accused on Sunday by an unidentified woman who claimed he made her have sexual activity although she gave him “clear” clues and let him know she didn’t want to. After this, the American comedian responded Monday saying that such encounter was agreed by the two of them.

The news about the sexual allegations against Ansari was released this past Sunday. According to Babe, the 23-year-old woman – who didn’t say how she was called but went under the name of “Grace” – had a date with the actor that ended being the “worst night” of her life.

The Brooklyn-based photographer accepted to have dinner with Ansari in September 2017. They both went at the end of it to his house, where he “ignored clear non-verbal cues” and “kept going with advances.” According to Grace, she ended giving him oral sex but didn’t go any further. She then asked for an Uber and left, upset.

In the screenshot Babe shared on Twitter, it showed Grace telling Ansari that he made her feel “violated” and uncomfortable. “I just want to take this moment to make you aware of [your] behavior and how uneasy it made me,” she wrote.

“It was actually painful to watch him win and accept an award,” she said. “And absolutely cringeworthy that he was wearing the Time’s Up pin. I think that started a new fire, and it kind of made it more real.”

To that, Ansari responded that he “clearly… misread things” at the moment, and that he was “truly sorry.”

According to her, both kissed several times at Ansari’s apartment. In here, he expressed his desire to have sex multiple times. However, she left before that happened.

Grace said that she was “taken advantage of by Aziz,” who was ignoring and not listening to her. According to her, it was the “worst experience with a man” she had ever had.

‘I was surprised and concerned’

In front of this, the American actor said he was surprised when he received Grace’s text.

“In September of last year, I met a woman at a party. We exchanged numbers. We texted back and forth and eventually went on a date. We went out to dinner, and afterwards we ended up engaging in sexual activity, which by all indications was completely consensual,” Ansari wrote in a statement.

The day after, Ansari said he received a text from Grace saying that although “it may have seemed okay,” she felt uncomfortable. But for that same reason in which he believed that everything seemed “okay,” he felt “surprised and concerned,” after having received the text.

Then, Ansari continued saying that he “took her words to heart” and responded in private after “taking the time to process what she had said.”

“I continue to support the movement that is happening in our culture. It is necessary and long overdue,” Ansari’s statement concluded.

James Franco, who won an Award at the 2018 Golden Globes too, was also recently accused after the ceremony, but by five women.
