Wisconsin- Tracy Czaczkowski from Illinois has been declared brain-dead after she was randomly shot in the SUV she was driving with her family inside.

Czaczkowski was returning from a family trip along with her husband and children, the family was driving on a Wisconsin interstate when the random shooting happened.

Authorities believe a 20-year-old is guilty of the woman’s death and that he might have murdered earlier a male victim in Milwaukee.

Investigations are being held

An emergency helicopter arrived at the scene where Tracy Czaczkowski  and her family were after returning from the Wisconsin Dells.

The suspect, Zachary Hays unloaded three rounds of bullets into the vehicle, authorities followed the suspect along with his two brothers while they were throwing beer cans out the window. Authorities used spikes to stop the car.

After the suspect’s car was stopped, police officers fired at the driver because he displayed his gun. He was then taken to the hospital and remains in custody.

Tracy Czaczkowski is the wife of a DEA officer who was not injured in the shooting, nor were their children.

A spokesman for the DEA has said that the victim was a loving wife and mother to their two young children.

After being rescued by an emergency helicopter, the victim was pronounced brain-dead and is currently on life support. Family members are waiting to donate her organs.

Current investigations are pointing Zachary Hays as responsible for the shooting of the 42-year-old Gabriel Sanchez near a suburban recent in Milwaukee.

Zachary’s brothers are in custody at the Dane County jail.
