‘Badass’ spacesuits for SpaceX Mars Mission

The SpaceX founder, Elon Musk, hired Jose Fernandez, a legendary superhero costume designer to create their own modern and stylish version of spacesuits.

In today’s standard, spacesuits are modified in order to look better in the movies, so it is likely that this idea is behind Musk’s intent to create a more fashionable spacesuit, said Jessica F of Nature World News.

Musk said he wanted to create a modern version of spacesuits that could make them look “badass”. In order to achieve his goal, he hired the acclaimed superhero costume designer Jose Fernandez to help him with this mission.

Jose Fernandez is the mastermind behind some of the most famous costumes for popular sci-fi characters. He worked in movies such as Batman v Superman, Oblivion, Tron: Legacy, The Avengers, Iron Man and Jupiter Ascending, Gizmodo reported.

The spacesuit design will be unveiled later this year, Musk affirmed. He added that they are working hard not only in the spacesuit’s utility but also on the design aesthetics because it must look like a 21st-century spacesuit and work well.

The look that’s going to be revealed in the next few months is something both Fernandez and Musk created in the studio, Fernandez said. Musk wanted the spacesuit to look stylish and great, but it has to be practical as well.

“It’s pretty badass,” Fernandez added.

Fernandez recently revealed that at first SpaceX and Tesla founder let him believed that he was designing a costume for another Sci-Fi superhero movie. But then he discovered that he was working for a real space program.

“I worked with him for six months and at the end of that, we created a suit that they are now reverse-engineering to make functional for flight,” said Fernandez in an interview with Bleep.

According to Mirror in the UK, the spacesuit will be first used in SpaceX Mission to Mars, which is scheduled for 2018.

SpaceX made a successful landing again

SpaceX had a successful landing with its second Falcon 9 rocket at sea within a month. There were extremely low expectations of the landing. However, even though the rocket was launched higher into orbit and at a higher velocity, this time, the operation was conducted with success.

It is the fourth launch of SpaceX this year, in which it could be launched another Falcon 9 this month, taking one more commercial satellite into orbit. The International Space Station has a supply project scheduled for June, which is likely to give the company an opportunity to return its rocket launches to land as well.

The Falcon 9 rocket was used to send the JCSAT-14 satellite into orbit for the largest satellite provider in Asia , Tokyo-based SKY Perfect JSAT. The rocket deployed the satellite into orbit just after 32 minutes of launch.
