Kerry Washington is expecting her second child with her husband and former football player Nnamdi Asomugha.

The “Scandal” star’s baby bump was first seen, even though she tried hiding it with a baggy dress, on the red carpet at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner in Washington, D.C., over the weekend.

The couple is known for being incredibly private about their private life. The 39-year-old actress and the 34-year-old NFL player secretly married in Hailey, Idaho in June 2013. Four months after the wedding it was revealed that they were going to have a first child, whose name is Isabelle Amarachi Asomugha. The 2-year-old girl was born on April 21, 2014.

Kerry’s pregnancy speculations

Speculations about her pregnancy did not begin until her TV co-star, Tony Goldwyn, posted a photo of Washington with her hand on her stomach. It can be seen that she is holding her belly while she is trying to take a selfie with the rest of the “Scandal” cast.

But it was not until a live chat with the Los Angeles Times in June 2014 when she, somewhat, confirmed that she was pregnant. She slipped the information while answering a question, saying that she feels blessed and she feels like she is living extraordinary dreams come true, both in her work life and personal life.

Washington was talking to Jimmy Kimmel and discussed the joys of motherhood, saying that life is really great.

Co-stars from her show “Shonda Rhimes” said that Washington’s life changed in more than one way after she became a mother. Tony Goldwyn shared with E! News that motherhood made her more awesome, as well as more happy, which is what happens, according to Goldwyn, when women have babies.
