Will Ferrell reaches millennials in video for Clinton’s campaign

Certainly, this presidential race has had a little of everything. This time, actor and comedian Will Ferrell stars a video that tries to inspire young voters across America in a pro-Hillary tone. He, of course, is not the first one.

From both sizes, they have been trying to sell the election to the “Millennial Generation.” And the truth is that for the past years, politicians have heavily ignored all the young voters, except for the campaigns of President Obama. This concern makes political parties think of ways for getting their candidate relate to the problems that this generation is having.

Ferrell’s video

Now, to talk about the video itself, we can see at the beginning a “cool” Will Ferrell partying with his gang of 20-year olds.

“I’m Will Ferrell — actor, comedian and typical run-of-the-mill millennial,” the Saturday Night Live ex-regular says. “Looks like you just caught me hanging out with my squad.”

He talks about wanting to talk with the “vibrant youth,” a term that “describes him” as well. Then he gives an advice “So let’s all put down our Snapchat, Tinder, Instagram and other assorted app-based technologies for a minute so we can keep it 100.” After, he insists on the danger that means don’t assist to the voting centers this Tuesday… on a young perspective.

“If you don’t vote, everyone might find out that you’re the opposite of on fleek,” he says. “Or that you’re basic. Or even worse. That you’ve got no chill. All of this on top of what will be a serious case of FOMO (Fear of Missing Out),” the 49-year-old says in the video.

This video might seem confusing. It has emojis, trendy terms, and very awkward facial expressions. However, the message is very clear: Vote and vote for Hillary. Ferrell, in fact, was using a “nasty woman” T-shirt. We have to remember that in the last presidential debate, the Republican candidate Donald Trump referred to Hillary as “such a nasty woman” when he got upset after she mentioned his possible tax evasion.

This comedian is not the only celebrity that has come out backing one of the candidates. In the last days, Beyoncé and Jay-Z performed at a Clinton rally concert in Cleveland, Ohio. Also for Hillary, Lena Dunham did an impersonation of MC Pantsuit in a parody video released this Thursday.

Which celebrity supports which candidate?

In the course of this campaign, are few the major personalities in the entertainment world that haven’t said which candidate, Trump, Clinton, Johnson or Stein, they support. Focusing on the two candidates with real possibilities of arriving at the White House in February, Hollywood has apparently bent for the Democrat Party Nominee, Hillary Clinton. And this caused an obvious reaction from Trump.

“The only people enthusiastic about her campaign are Hollywood celebrities, in many cases celebrities that aren’t very hot anymore,” he said, mocking her showbiz supporters.

Taking a closer look, here is a recap of the main stars that back each primary candidate

Donald Trump

For clear reasons, most of Trump supporters from the showbiz are long-life Republican Party devotees. This backing has come mostly from tweets that these personalities had published.

Hulk Hogan tweeted that he did not want to be “in the ring with any candidates,” as he supported Trump while wanting to his “running mate.” So did Azealia Banks, who also said she “REALLY” wants Donald Trump to win the elections, while she thinks Hillary has been “GROOMED” to be president and carries her own agenda.

Other persons that have backed Trump’s race include Kid Rock, Clint Eastwood, John Ratzenberger, Charlie Sheen and Tom Brady.

Hillary Clinton

The celebrities that have stood out for the Democrat Party Nominee are more flamboyant than Trump’s.

George Clooney and his wife Amal held a fundraiser in April at his home in L.A. where all the money collected went to Hillary Clinton’s campaign. The tickets were sold at $33,400. On the other hand, Katy Perry did series of Funny or Die videos alongside being the leading performer in the Democratic National Convention (DNC).

“That`s right; I`m with her two,” she said to the people in Philly.

Also singers Adele, Ellie Goulding, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Barbara Streisand, actors Robert de Niro, Meryl Streep, Drew Barrymore, Leonardo DiCaprio and personalities like Ellen DeGeneres and Kim Kardashian had backed Clinton all the way since the past year either holding fundraisers, being at rallies, posting photos or publishing videos.

This election has been all about press coverage, as analysts had continually said. The Election Day will prove the real impact of these different attempts to get “popular” among the voters.
