Hailie Jade Scott Mathers, the central theme of iconic rap songs like “Mockingbird” and “Hailie’s Song” from rap superstar Eminem, aka Slim Shady, is no longer a baby girl. Hailie has been very successful on social networks even to the point of becoming an Instagram sensation, accomplishing more than 360,000 followers in her personal account @hailiescott1 with only 22 publications in the last six months.
Until this Instagram fame she has obtained, Hailie was living quite a normal life. She goes to Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan, according to the website US Weekly. The report does not say which major Hailie is cursing, but in the latest yearbook from her school, she stated that she wanted to study either Psychology or Entrepreneurship.
One of the few things that she has revealed is the fact that she is in a stable relationship with a guy also studying at the Michigan State University. In a publication she made on her birthday on December 28th, she posted a photo with her significant other accompanied by the caption: “Couldn’t have asked for a better 21st birthday celebration (or a better guy to have by my side).”
Hailie’s parents: Marshall and Kimberly Mathers
Marshall Mathers, also known as Eminem or Slim Shady, got married twice with Kimberly Scott, Hailie’s mother. First, they got married in 1999 and divorced in 2001 for then getting re-married in 2006 and get separated that same year again. They finally made peace in 2011, and the rapper published his song “Headlights” in 2014 which included a public apology to Kimberly. They have been separated since.
Regarding her relationship with her parents, Hailie wrote in the mentioned yearbook that the most influential persons during her lifetime were her mother and her father.
“They have pushed me to be the person I am and have given me all the support to achieve what I have,” she stated.
However, the relationship between both parents had not been healthy in any way. Eminem has released several songs that portray the terrible situation they both lived together and even in “97 Bonnie & Clyde,” the rapper talks about how he would kill Kim with the assistance of Hailie herself, with the baby even participating briefly in the song.
In an interview Kimberly gave this week, she admitted all the pain she went through when being with Marshall. She said that she tried to commit suicide on two occasions and that she has been in drug and alcohol addictions because of the psychological injuries he had caused her.
“Seeing the crowd’s response (to 97 Bonnie & Clyde) and everybody cheering, singing the words and laughing and it just felt like everyone was staring at me,” Scott told People. “I knew that it was about me and that night I went home and I tried to commit suicide.”
However, the relationship between both Hailie’s parents seems to be better since she even thanked them when graduating with honors from the Chippewa High School. After Eminem publicly apologized Kim and facing misogynist critics for his songs in 2014, no other considerable event has happened between them.
