James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke reveals celebrities’ stories that perhaps wouldn’t be told in conventional interviews. Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas enjoyed a fun ride with the late-night host as they sang hits like “Confident” and “Chains,” letting fans know them better. Corden effortlessly made them drop interesting bits of information while having a good time with pals.
To start with, the whole world is now aware that Demi and Nick have been good friends for as much as a decade. In fact, they’re even going to celebrate their “friendaversary” in a few days, proving that it’s possible to have a real, long-lasting relationship in Hollywood.
As for romantic issues, Corden wanted to make sure that the two pals had never been together that way. They confirmed it and then Nick revealed that he found love after dating Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus. Although he didn’t name the lucky lady, he did specify that he fell in love with a woman, meaning that the singer may have referred to Australian singer and songwriter Delta Goodrem. They dated back in 2011 and she is eight years older than him, according to E! Online.
“I had a real relationship with an adult and I fell in love,” he expressed.
And that’s why Nick took off his purity ring. He decided it was just time to make that decision.
A funny revelation Nick told Demi and Corden in the segment was that Cake by the Ocean was actually inspired by a failed attempt to translate “sex on the beach” in Sweden. When Joe Jonas was writing the track with Swedish people, the Europeans asked him the meaning of the phrase “cake by the ocean.” It was then that Joe realized they were referring to “sex on the beach,” but they just failed to produce the correct words.
The host’s music skills
James Corden showed off his singing skills as he was reaching remarkably high notes and having fun at the same time. However, he went emotional after Demi’s Stone Cold. Anyway, this is not the first segment in which he displays his musical talents, but in the latest one he definitely proved he can sing. The Into de Woods actor knows how to harmonize in falsetto octaves while feeling the passion of music.
The trio ended up giving a public performance of Confident with a small crowd around them and the TMZ tour bus in front of them. Demi acted as the vocalist of the improvised band, Nick played the guitar and James… He did his best to play drums before standing to collect some money.
