Canada’s Prime Minister has gone viral when answering an ironic question about quantum computers. Trudeau shocked the crowd while making a correct statement about the functions and systems of quantum computing.

Canada’s PM, Justin Trudeau, was speaking at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics in Waterloo Ontario, to donate $50 million for research budget in the school.

The prime minister attended the press conference aiming to encourage young women to pursue careers that society normally labels as male-dominated, such as science, technology, engineering and mathematics(STEM) fields.

Trudeau has been a great advocate for gender equality and women empowering since he first took the power as Prime Minister. He’s also an enthusiast for science and technology development.

Trudeau and quantum computers

While answering questions from the media Trudeau faced a reporter who-joking- said he was going to ask him first about quantum computer and proceeded to ask about Canada’s fight with Islamic group ISIS.

The Prime Minister shocked everyone in the crowd when he answer  “Well normal computers work by” the crowd burst into laughter but Trudeau assured that people will leave the press conference knowing more or less about quantum.

Justin Trudeau continued to explain in a deeper manner how quantum computers are formed and how they operate.

“Normal computers work, either there’s one power going through a wire or not. It’s one or a zero, they’re binary systems. What quantum states allow for is much more complex information to be encoded into a single bit. Regular computer bit is either a one or a zero, on or off. A quantum state could be much more complex than that, because, as we know, things could be both particle and wave at the same time, and the uncertainty around quantum states allows us to encode more information into a much smaller computer. So that’s what’s exciting about quantum computing,” said the Prime Minister to the amazed crowd.

After Trudeau’s statements he has granted with applauses and laughter, while proving the world his knowledge in the subject.

After the press conference, Trudeau’s explanation video went viral and has the whole world talking about it. Just as everyone did when he shocked the world with his 50 percent women cabinet and Yoga poses.
