Trump’s relationship with England may not be good

Donald Trump’s relationship with England is getting more complicated. On Monday, the Republican presidential nominee said that he was offended by Sadiq Khan and David Cameron’s statements about him.

Sadiq Khan, the first Muslim to become mayor of London, said that Trump’s views of Islam are ignorant. Trump suggested to make an exception for Khan to travel to the United States if he bans Muslims from the country, and Khan said that he was not talking about himself when he made the comments about Trump’s ideas. He said he does not want to be an exception.

On the other hand, British Prime Minister Cameron made a statement about Trump saying that the candidate’s suggestion of making a temporary ban on Muslims traveling to the United States are divisive, stupid and wrong.

A petition to ban Trump from the country due to his hate speech attracted more than 500,000 signatures. The United Kingdom’s parliamentarians are debating the proposal, and Cameron said that if Trump visited the country, everyone would be against him.

Trump said that, if he gets elected, he will not have a good relationship with David Cameron. However, the Prime Miniter said he will work with whoever becomes the new president of the Unites States.

Trump comments

In an interview with Piers Morgan, Good Morning Britain’s host, Trump said that he does not think the relationship between him and Cameron will be good because he thinks the Prime Minister is not interested in talking to him about the comments he made.

He also said he rejected the statements the Prime Minister made about him, saying that he is not stupid. Also, he added that he thinks he is a unifier instead of a divisive person.

Regarding the comments of Khan, Trump challenged the mayor of London to take an I.Q. test. He said Khan made rude statements about him, threatening that he will remember those statements. Khan answered to Trump’s request saying that ignorance does not mean lack of intelligence.

Khan’s spokesperson said in a statement that the mayor has worked hard to fight extremism, adding that Trump is an extremist who makes the fight harder.

Trump’s statements about Muslims

In the interview, Trump said that Muslims should be banned from the United States, not because he hates Muslims but because he hates terrorism. He added that the ban should persist until the country figures out what is going on.

“I have many Muslim friends, I was with one the other day, one of the most successful men, he’s Muslim and he said, ‘Donald you have done us such a favor, you have brought out a problem that nobody wants to talk about’,” he said in the interview.
