Sprint’s free year on Amazon Prime: Subscribe to their XXL plan!

The telecommunications holding company, Sprint,  is offering their customers twelve months of Amazon’s prime service after they switch to their Better Choice  XXL plan.

The company announced on Friday the offer giving customers the chance to enjoy 40GB of high-speed data while obtaining Amazon’s Prime  fast shipping service.

The 40GB XXL plan would cost Sprint users $100 a month for unlimited talking and texting with high-speed data while enjoying the Prime service that includes Prime Video and Prime Music.

Characteristics of the plan

Sprint’s Better Choice XXL Plan is available for current customers and new customers and it consists of high-speed data to share, unlimited text and talk for the number of lines in families.

After reaching the monthly allotment of the 40GB speed, customers can access 2GB speed of unlimited data or choose to buy $15 GB of high-speed data.

The plan also includes Sprint’s global roaming service that works for texting and calling from the United States to over 180 countries.

Interested customers would need to visit the “plan” section on Sprint’s website to activate the 40GB plan. After signing up a message will be received to activate Amazon’s Prime service registration.

Customers that are not in the XXL plan can also access Amazon’s prime service with a monthly payment of $10.99.

Yet the plan also comes with a $20 fee for every line that is activated in the XXL plan, meaning that every single customer would have to pay $120 instead of just $100. While the unlimited data plan from Sprint costs $75 a month without any fee.

Social media and technology web pages are criticizing the new plan for this fee and the prices, the website ‘Tom’s Guide’ explains in an article that Sprint customers would pay less if they stuck to the $75 unlimited data and assessed the $10.99 Amazon’s Prime service.

Different opinions also state that if every line included in the Better Choice XXL plan comes with a $20 fee, this means a family of four subscribed in the plan would have to pay $180 on a monthly basis.

The telecommunications service has yet to comment on this matter.
