Seahawks Marshawn Lynch Speaks

Seattle Seahawks star running back Marshawn Lynch took a step away from his typical,  completely silent, attitude towards the media and offered a statement at today’s media day for press coverage in the lead up to Superbowl XLIX.

“Hey look, I mean, all week I told y’all what’s up,” Lynch said. “And for some reason y’all continue to come back and do the same thing that y’all did. I don’t know what story y’all trying to get out of me. I don’t know what image y’all trying to portray of me. But it don’t matter what y’all think, what y’all say about me.”

“I’ll come to y’all event. Y’all shove cameras and microphones down my throat. But when I’m at home in my environment, I don’t see y’all, but y’all mad at me. And if you ain’t mad at me, then what y’all here for? I ain’t got nothing for y’all, though. I told y’all that. Y’all should know that. But y’all will sit here like right now and continue to do the same thing.”

In his career thus far, Lynch has become some what infamous in the eyes of the media and the NFL, not for his behavior on the field, or any off the field controversies, but rather Lynchs seeming disdain for the media.

Lynch rarely attends any media or press events, but when he does its usually because, “[He’s] just [there] so he [doesn’t] get fined.”

Lynch is very much of the belief, not necessarily incorrectly, that the media is only looking to catch a quote that they can use in order to get a better story to give to the world, and that thewords of people being interviewed are often twisted.

Lynch has only been attending Superbowl media events as the NFL threatened to fine Lynch for not participating in these events.

Lynch may not have completely avoided the ire of the NFL though, as once again he wore a hat from his beast mode clothing line, which the NFL has threatened to fine him for already.
