Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge now available on Verizon’s Annual Upgrade Program

Verizon has announced on Monday that the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 edge are now available on its Annual Upgrade Program. This upgrade program, previously available just for the Apple 6 series, allows users to upgrade to a new smartphone each year.

The company announced a new annual upgrade program that lets you upgrade to new smartphones every year, with a couple of conditions. First, you must buy Samsung’s Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge on an installment plan and you must have paid at least 50% of your device payments by the date you’re eligible to upgrade. This could be in 12 months if you’re on a 24-month payment plan or even just a month after buying a phone as long as you pay up to that 50% mark.

The carrier also announced that those who pre-ordered the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are automatically signed up for this new option but if you haven’t, don’t worry. Anyone else who wants to enroll can do so when they buy their next smartphone.

If you may want to switch phones in the future, that is possible too. Verizon says that customers will be able to change their smartphone to any phone that’s supported by the program once they’ve been enrolled in the Annual Upgrade Program. So far, this limits your options to the Apple iPhone 6s series and the Samsung Galaxy S7 series, but the list will get bigger.

Special offer

Verizon announced a special offer for a limited time to those who switch from another carrier. They will receive $100 in bill credit when activating a Samsung Galaxy S7 or S7 edge on Verizon’s network.

Remember that Verizon already offers up $650 to cover early termination fees, and extra 2GB of data per month for those coming from another carrier. So, for a limited time, new customers will receive a special treat.
