‘Playboy’ model and Snapchat Queen Katie May dies from a stroke at 34

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Known as the “Queen of Snapchat”, Playboy model Katie May died at age 34. After an accident at a photoshoot, she suffered a stroke due to blockage in her carotid artery. The star had been hospitalized since Monday and was taken off life support on Thursday, Feb. 4.

The terrible news were first reported by TMZ and confirmed by his brother Stephen May in a statement to People magazine.

May, who is survived by her seven-year-old daughter Mia, suffered a neck injury following a fall during a photoshoot last week. The accident is thought to have led to the stroke. She was released the same day after getting checked out for the pain, but she tweeted about the issues she was still suffering.

Even though the model and businesswoman had appeared in numerous magazines, she was best known for her insanely massive social media following. Only on Instagram she had about 2 million followers. May was named “Queen of Snapchat by Sports Illustrated and GQ, among others.

Before becoming a model, May used to work in PR. In a recent interview she said she had been through many lessons in her life, but described her journey as a single mother as the most valuable.

There is a GoFundMe page to raise money for Mia’s education and care. “Please help us by donating money to support her daughter and best friend Mia. Mia was Katie’s whole life, so please help Katie, Mia and us by donating money to Mia”, the page says.

The page describes Katie May as an inspiration to many people.

Over the last 10 hours, more than $8,700 have been raised so far with donations from 39 people.
