The journey to success

Pitbull, whose real name is Armando Christian Perez, is a Cuban descent who started rapping after high school. He released his first album M.I.A.M.I back in 2004, followed by several records such as Mariel (2006) and the Boatlift (2007). His 2011 album was released in Spanish as a tribute to his father. Now, he has sold more than 6 million album copies and more than 70 million singles all over the world. The “I know you want me” star left a message to his fans about the importance of believing in themselves, doing right to others and not letting anyone stop them.

His album “Dale” made him the winner of the Grammy for best Latin, Rock, urban or alternative album. As well, he was chosen along with Shakira and Claudia Leitte by FIFA organization, and Sony Records to write and record the “We are one” (ole, ola) single, the official song of the 2014 World Cup.

He used the Hollywood recognition ceremony to highlight how proud he is of the Latinos in the United States, as they work for a better future. Very moved and with tears in his eyes, Pitbull he thanked his mother because she taught him how to survive. He has had several hits such as “Timber”, “El Taxi”, “Echa pa’lla” and “Time of Our Life”. As well, he is well known for working with a vast amount of famous musicians including Enrique Iglesias, Akon, Marc Anthony, Jennifer Lopez and Kesha.

What the American dream embodies

In the ceremony at Los Angeles, the rapper, father of four, appreciated the opportunity the United States represents, a chance to freedom and to go ahead. He affirmed that he wasn’t a supporter of Donald Trump after it was said in the media that he had had a meeting with the Republican Candidate in Florida. He denied the story, describing the campaign ran by the business person as a joke.

He also thanked his fans for their support. “To be up here, it just goes to show what happens when you focus, when you work hard, when you believe in yourself,” said he accompanied with his family and closest friends. Currently, Mr. Worldwide is working on “The Bad Man Tour” shows around the U.S with Dominican bachata singer Prince Royce. As well, he is planning to release later this year a new album called “Climate Change.”
