Papa Was a Rollin’ Stone: Mick Jagger becoming a father again

London – Rock legend and Knight, Mick Jagger, 72, and his girlfriend, ballerina, Melanie Hamrick, 29, are expecting their first child together.

This is the first child for Hamrick, Jagger, however, has other seven children, four who are older than his current girlfriend. There’s Karis, 45, whom he had with Marsha Hunt; Jade, 44, daughter of Jagger’s only wife, Bianca Jagger, Elizabeth, 32, James, 30 and Georgia, 24 and Gabriel, 19, with ex-partner Jerry Hall. In addition to Lucas, 17, from the brief relationship with Luciana Gimenez. He also has five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

According to The Sun, Hamrick will not move to London, going instead to Connecticut to be near her family or Los Angeles, where Jagger goes frequently. Apparently, the ballerina will end her career to focus on being a full-time mother.

Hamrick went to a boarding school in Washington D.C. to pursue ballet full-time when she was 11 and began her training at Eastern Virginia School of the Performing Arts. By the time she was 17, she was enrolled in the American Ballet Theatre in New York under the tutelage of Madame Sizova. One year later she was offered a full company contract.

A very ‘Rolling Stone’ romance for both Jagger and Hamrick

Jagger and Hamrick started seeing each other after his partner of thirteen years L’Wren Scott’s suicide in 2014. They met backstage at a Rolling Stones concert in Tokyo. At the time, Hamrick had been with fellow dancer José Manuel Carreño for six years and was engaged. By sheer coincidence, she also lived just blocks away from Jagger’s Upper West Side apartment. However, the ballerina has always been very private about her relationship, refusing to comment about it in interviews and having no references or pictures of the singer in her social media.

Despite the 43-year age gap, according to an unnamed source, the couple is happy and surprised with the news. Image Credit: W Magazine

Especially Hamrick, because “she knows what a great relationship Mick has with all of his children and can’t wait for him to be a dad again […] she has always been a maternal person and can’t wait for the next chapter of her life as a mom. Melanie is very excited to become a mom and thinks Mick is the most amazing man she’s ever met”, as for Jagger “he will support and love this child.”

The Rolling Stones have 18 children in total, ranging from 48 years to one month old. Jagger has seven, Keith Richards has four, Charlie Watts has one and Ronnie Wood has six. On May, Wood, 69, and his wife Sally Humphreys, 38, welcomed their twin girls. Papa was a Rolling Stone, indeed.
