The show takes place across an entirely fictional world, although it is literally filmed across the globe, filming in locations from the citadel from Spain, pictured as the free city of Dorne, to filming in New Zealand where vast inhabited areas play the role of Dothraki domains.

The story begins on Westeros, which plays the principal background role for people to identify themselves with a kingdom between so many others presented along the series. A beloved character from the series Jon Snow, which is portrayed by the talented Kit Harrington as the bastard son of a Lord who is sent away from his family – spoiler alert – is killed in the last episode from season 5, yet is presumed to make a victorious return from the dead as he was seen on a film set in Belfast.

“Look, I’m not in the show anymore. I’m definitely not in the new series,” said Harrington to Time Out London in response to allegations claiming he would be in the new season due to its appearance in Belfast. “I filmed some scenes of me being dead – it’s some of my best work.”

Getting to know the seven kingdoms

It’s worth for non-viewers to know that Game of Thrones’ premise combines a medieval world thematic as well as a fantastical factor, which includes the frequent appearance of Dragons, Giants, people returning from the dead and more. Whether people prefers action and drama series or comedy shows, Game of Thrones manages to fit all categories into one massive production taken up to a global scale as the show simultaneously shoots on two different continents.

Returning cast members for more classic GoT drama include Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage, Sophie Turner, John Bradley, Jonathan Price, Natalie Dormer and Lena Headey. Alongside the amazing cast from Game of Thrones, there are always new faces to be awaited as viewers get to know more from the fantastical world of the leading series presently.

However, fans will have to wait until late April in order to follow up the multiple stories being developed as the show continues to gain popularity worldwide.
