Destiny 2 footage shows newest features of the game

Video game developer Bungie finally disclosed the newest features in Destiny 2 with a CG trailer. The company, along with Activision, hosted a Destiny 2 reveal event on May 18 and reassured that the game will be released on September 8.

The company also revealed new gameplay footage and the new powerful Guardian powers. The game has a brand new way to enjoy playing the game solo: it doesn’t require the player to play with Destiny “blueberries” and instead uses the previously algorithmic matchmaking.

Destiny 2 will have Guide Games

According to the latest gaming news, Destiny 2 is going to integrate clans into the game. Instead of coordinating night raids or fireteams outside of the game in Bungie’s Destiny website, players will be able to see their clan’s roster right in the game. If players don’t wish to have or be part of a clan, Destiny 2 allows subverting the need for a permanent clan thanks to Guided Games.

Guided Games will provide a way for clans to fill out a spot in their fireteam or raid and will allow gamers to experience strictly multiplayer content without dealing with the DestinyLFG subreddit, according to Bungie. In Destiny 2, players will get to pick which clan they’ll join, based on the banner as well as a quick overview of what the clan is all about. Guide Games solves the issue of the “Destiny sherpa” and will allow people to group in the manner that suits them best.

Destiny 2 will be released September 8 for every platform but PC

The PC launch date has not been disclosed yet, according to Destiny 2 director Luke Smith.

“We’re not committed to a PC date yet, but at Bungie, we’re totally committed to making a PC build as great as we can,” said Smith at the reveal event, according to PC Gamer. “Our partnership with Blizzard and being on Battle.net, we want to make sure that this version of the game has the time it needs to bake in the oven so it’s a delicious piece of bread when it comes out.”

Smith noted he couldn’t comment on how much of a delay the PC version would suffer, but added that Bungie would try to release a date in the following weeks.

Blizzard released a FAQ on its website where they noted that the company is excited to work with Bungie to bring the PC version of Destiny 2 and that Bungie is actively working through the global details.

Bungie said at the reveal event that everyone will have a chance to “get their hands” on Destiny 2 before the launch, and access is already being offered as a preorder bonus on all platforms. Web sites listing the game, such as GameStop and Amazon, put the PC release date as September 8 too, however, it is known that the PC launch will be released later.
