Celebrities support Kesha after losing court battle

A couple of days ago, a judge denied a court injunction filed by Kesha that would have allowed the singer to record outside her record label Sony Music. Now, as celebrities show their support to Kesha, Taylor Swift has donated $250,000 to the singer to help with any current financial problems.

Kesha’s producer Lukasz Gottwald was accused of abusing the artist in a complaint filed in October 2014.

The pop singer confessed that “Dr. Luke” had drugged her, sexually abused and psychologically harassed her. The producer and former mentor of Kesha, Dr. Luke has denied all charges and his lawyers argued that allegations from the artist are an attempt to void her legal contract with Sony.

Kesha is now ‘free’ to record and release her own music without involving Gottwald as a producer, according to the New York Supreme Court. Although, the contract couldn’t be nullified as the allegations from the pop singer were unconvincing and couldn’t stand in court.

While Kesha’s producer was accused of sexual and psychological abuse, the records show how much it has been invested in Kesha’s success through their contributions. And it’s worth mentioning that Sony Music has already spent over $11 million promoting the pop singer.

Despite of the singer’s wish to leave Sony and its label Kemosabe Records, the company shows no sign of slowing the promotion for Kesha’s work.

Court battle escalates to celebrity clash

After the pop celebrity Kesha lost the court battle with Dr. Luke, some of the biggest names in music spoke on behalf of the singer. Demi Lovato was one of the first to stand alongside Kesha as Lovato came forward for her fellow singer and expressed her support. There’s a battle on the social media as the attention is focused on which side everyone’s taking.

Famous celebrities are now choosing sides publicly in the case between Kesha and Mr. Gottwald, who is one of the industry’s top producers. Female musicians including Lady Gaga, Lorde, Demi Lovato and Miley Cyrus have showed support in recent days for Kesha as the pop singer continues to battle in court against Dr. Luke.

Lovato expressed her support on her Twitter account by telling Kesha that this situation would only make her stronger.

Lady Gaga also posted “There are people all over the world who love you Kesha. And I can say truly I am in awe of your bravery.”

However, Taylor Swift outwitted every other supporter as she made a rather substantial donation to Kesha during her time of need. Among the statements of female icons including Gaga and Kelly Clarkson, Demi Lovato wrote a series of tweets supporting Kesha and representing women empowerment.
