This year’s 88th Academy Awards, took place on the 28th of February in the Dolby Theatre, while many of the curious eyes focused on Leonardo Dicaprio’s  nomination or in the alleged boycott. Other fashion lover eyes, were mainly focused on the clothing and styling of this year’s Oscars nominees.

Cate Blanchett, at 46 years old, arrived at the Oscars red carpet wearing an haute couture Armani Privé gown, a long seafoam green, cap- sleeve, mermaid dress, decorated with flowers that assembled butterflies and hand sewn Swarovski crystals.

The Australian actress looked flawless in the skin tight dress, with a V section right in the torso, regarding the hair and accessories; Blanchett wore her blonde hair loose with long diamond Tiffany and Co. earrings and jewelry. For the makeup, the nominee looked fresh- faced with her minimalistic makeup. Nude lips and a light smokey eye.

Fashion Bloggers and Critics are debating over the Armani gown, some assure that although Cate’s beauty can’t be overlooked the dress was really distracting, because of the three-dimensional flowers that stuck to the gown, and the craft feathers that were sewn into the gown. Also the football shoulders.

The lovers of the dress raved about the embellishments of the gown, celebrate the fact that she didn’t play it safe, like most stars this year, applaud the creamy porcelain skin color and the drama that brought to the red carpet.

Social media really cared for fashion this year, although is no secret that fashion is a very important part of the awards season, social media exploded this year, according to twitter statistics over 440 K of tweets per minute were published in the social media platform.

Cate Blanchett looks spectacular in this gown, but in the end, the public must decide for itself.
