2K Games, the house behind many acclaimed games, has finally made official that Bioshock The Collection will be released in September. The remastered edition will include three Bioshock games: Bioshock, Bioshock 2 and Bioshock Infinite. Also, the company said all the single player DLCs including the very famous Minerva’s Den are going to be available altogether with sketch and art concepts that didn’t make it to the game, director’s commentary, new puzzles, challenges and more, much more.

Even people who have never played this game series have heard a lot about it. It is acclaimed by both the critic and the gaming communities as one of the best games ever, not only in its genre. The first game of the series won over five games of the year awards and introduced many emblematic characters that became the face of video games such as Big Daddies.

The Collection is going to give the players an insight on Ken Kevine’s, Bioshock’s Hideo Kojima, mind regarding the creation of the game. It will also feature Shawn Robertson, who was the animation lead of the first title and the animation director for Infinite. The game creating process involves a lot of trial and error, and a lot of concepts never make it to the actual play. Bioshock is not the exception, and The Collection is going to have a complete gallery in a museum-like display of all the discarded art concepts.

Not everything is prettier graphics and old pictures

There is something for those people that emerged themselves into Rapture over and over again. The remastered edition includes a lot of new puzzles and challenged rooms where they can challenge the dreaded Big Daddies and other scary opponents such as the splicers. The company said it was going to include an achievement system so that players can expect a real challenge in these extra missions.

2K added that the collection was going to add all the single player DLCs including the Minerva’s Den that further expands the history behind the fictional city of Rapture. Gamer is also going to have the opportunity to put themselves in the shoes of an Alpha series Big Daddy to endure the Protector Trials which are set before the events of the sequel, Bioshock 2.

The new Bioshock Infinite version will not only include all the DLCs, but it also will bring 60 new challenges for both the rookies and the masters of the skyhook. The progress in said challenges will be reflected at the Columbian Archeological Society Hub Museum where new content is going to be unlocked via achievement.

However, Bioshock 2 multiplayer mode is out of the equation, and the PC versions didn’t get the image refresh. 2K staff said the game ran at max visuals on PC, so an improvement in this area was unnecessary.

The game is coming out in the United States on September 13, in Australia on September 15, and the international release will be the 16th day of the same month. Bioshock The Collection will be available for $59.99.
