San Francisco, California – Twitter announced on Wednesday, after months of anticipation, that the eagerly awaited Microsoft’s Windows 10 Mobile app for the social media will be finally available in the window store since March 17. Twitter is finally bringing its latest features to its Windows 10 app, with a few additions to celebrate.

The social media announced back in July a version of its app for Windows 10 desktops laptops and tablets but at the moment phones were not included. Now, they have announced the introduction of “Twitter for Windows 10 Mobile” app, a version suited for smartphones.

New updates for Twitter for Windows 10 Mobile

To welcome its new update, twitter has introduced some newer Twitter features. Windows 10 users will have the ability to send group Direct Messages. Also, they will capture, edit, and tweet video; quote retweet; and see top tweets without even logging in. It also lets you explore Twitter’s Moments feature, which is essentially a highlight reel showing the most popular stories unfolding across the microblogging service that second.

Twitter Product Designer Angela Lam wrote in a blog post that the social media carefully considered each section of twitter before bringing the application to the mobile phones in order to translate user’s interactions in their desktops and tables to the phones.

“We found that 90 percent of the UI and interaction models could be shared from these devices to mobile phones, but there were places where we decided to make adjustments to optimize for each.” She wrote in the post.

Some features will look different on mobile devices than it does on larger desktop and tablet screens. The Moments feature, for instance, will cover the whole screen on a mobile and users will be able to swipe to navigate through them. On the desktop and tablet version, this feature will show stories in a grid layout.
