American director, producer and screenwriter, Steven Spielberg is introducing new ‘Drew Barrymore’ into the screen. After the great success that initiated the career of the actress with E.T., Spielberg presents a girl that might be a ‘diamond in the rough’ in Hollywood once again.

When referring to the cast of Rudy Barnhill, Spielberg said he had “hit the jackpot”. The young actress is going to play Sophie in his next movie, The BFG (The Big Fact Game) an adaptation of the children’s book.

During the Cannes Film Festival, while an interview to PEOPLE, Barnhill made a sort of trivia game where she asked some questions to the American director about his most memorable movies, such as E.T, Jurassic Park and Jaws.

At the same time, Barnhill described her experience when she met Spielberg for the very first time during her cast of Bridge of Spies.

Steven came in and I was, like, literally shaking. I was like, ‘Oh my goodness,'” said the young star.

Moreover, she she was asked about how was it working with Spielberg, Barnhill added.

“After the first five minutes, I literally just felt like really, really comfortable straight away.”

Also, Spielberg pointed out that at the very first moment he met Barnhill, he just “felt” she was right for the part. According to him, while casting someone there are no scripts for evaluation; it is just a matter of feelings and reason has nothing to do with someone’s choice for his films.

The same way Spielberg did with Barrymore, it is possible that Barnhill make a successful way in Hollywood using Spielberg’s movies as a springboard.

The upcoming Spielberg’s film will be launched on July 1.
