Becoming the first application available for iPhone users, the new feature named ‘Text Reply for iOS’ will allow reply texts through user’s voice dictation, a possibility already available for Android users.

Despite this major release, the SmartWatch manufacturer cleared that the update is currently limited exclusively to postpaid AT&T customers only. Pebble has announced that they are making a great effort to roll the feature out to more carriers.

The Pebble watch will have some disadvantages, such as not working with group messages, sending the replies as SMS –instead of using iMessage–, and that these texts won’t appear in the messaging app on the iPhone. Hopefully, Pebble will eventually add a feature that will let users to reply other types of messages, including e-mails, Facebook and WhatsApp messages.

Pebble released to users that will enjoy the update a detailed step-by-step list of instructions. It will require to update the Pebble Time iPhone app to version 3.4 or higher, as well updating the Pebble Time’s firmware to version 3.7 or higher. After the set-up, notifications received from the Messages app will show the option to reply with a voice message, or a list of predefined responses.

Pebble has reduced the prices of a number of their devices looking forward to Black Friday, including the Pebble Time Steel, the Pebble Time and the Pebble Classic. The Pebble Classic is available now $69.99, down from $99.99; the Pebble Time Steel is now $199.99, down from $249.99; and the Pebble Time is just $129.99, down from $199.99.
