Former Friends star, Matthew Perry just admitted that he “beat up” Canada Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau. He said it all happened when he was a teenager and it was purely out of jealousy.

The confession made by Perry is really shocking for the fans of ‘Chandler’, who would have never believed Perry could be aggressive, let alone to Mr. Trudeau, who has proven to be one of the nicest world leaders. As well, the idea of two soon-to-be famous Canadians fighting is certainly interesting and strange at the same time.

“My friend Chris Murray, who was also in the fifth grade in Canada, reminded me that we actually beat up Justin Trudeau,” Perry told Kimmel. “We both beat him up. I think he was excelling in a sport that we weren’t, so it was pure jealousy,” he added.

Matthew Perry and Trudeau went to the same school

Though Matthew Perry was born in Massachusetts, he was raised in Ontario by his mother after their parents got divorced. Perry’s father was an American actor while her mother, Suzanne Marie Langford, was a Canadian journalist and former press secretary to Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau.

Therefore, it is not a surprise that Matthew Perry knew the Trudeau family when they were kids. In fact, Justin Trudeau and Perry went to the same school, and both had a passion for sports.

What is certainly shocking is that Perry just admitted he beat up Trudeau when they were in school. The confession was made to Jimmy Kimmel this week.

Perry confessed it is a story he is not proud of. He said it all happened when he was in fifth grade (Trudeau was a few years younger at that time). He also said that the future Prime Minister was the only kid at school that he could beat up. Perry said that Trudeau didn’t have bodyguards in school, although he was the son of the prime minister at the time.

Matthew Perry was jealous of Justin Trudeau

Matthew said that he and his friend beat up little Justin because he was better in sports than they were. He said it is quite a “hazy” motivation, but it was out of pure jealousy.

Perry might be the proof that not every Canadian it so nice. As well, fans are shocked about how someone could be mean to the feminist and good-looking Canadian PM. Not even the Trumps or the Royal Family have resisted to Trudeau’s charms.

However, Perry did say that he feels shame for the whole incident. “I’m not bragging about this. This is terrible, and I was a stupid kid.” Perry said.

He also said they haven’t talked all these years, therefore, he hasn’t apologized for beating Justin up. At the end, he said that this incident might have been good for him since he has made great accomplishments such as becoming Prime Minister.
