After almost four years of absence in the show business, the Grammy-winner singer Lorde has released his new song and video called “Green Light.” This single comes out to promote the upcoming album of the artist to be premiered early this year.

Lorde’s is making her comeback with this new single which she co-wrote and co-produced along with Jack Antonoff. This Lorde comes with a more upbeat tone, as both the video and the tempo of the song are different to what she offered to the public with “Pure Heroine,” her first studio album released in 2013.

In the first album of the singer, the lyrics and videos are quite melancholic as her problems with love are faced with sadness and sorrow. However, if the new album is any like the “Green Light” video, maybe the people could see a Lorde that does not cry but dances her problems away.

The next album of the singer is called “Melodrama,” and it is also a co-production between the New Zealander artist and Jack Antonoff. Antonoff is a member of the Grammy-winner band Fun, and he has personally collaborated with artists like Taylor Swift, Sia, Christina Perri, and Zayn Malik.

New songs, same Lorde

Even when the tempo and beat of the new song might seem much different, the essence of the Lorde-effect in people has maintained. In an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music’s Beats 1 Radio, she talked about the creative process of the new song. She explained that it was not a particularly easy song to write.

“It’s not something that I really am used to writing about,” she said. “It took me a while to be able to figure out how to write about that … And the song is really about those moments kind of immediately after your life changes and about all the silly little things that you gravitate toward.”

The artist has stated that “Melodrama” is expected to be premiered this summer. She states that these last years of transition into adulthood have affected the process of creation of the album. “I moved out of home and all of a sudden I was kind of figuring out ‘Who am I when I’m alone? Who am I when I’m doing things just for myself?” she admits.

Many celebrities supported Lorde in this new release

A significant number of celebrities from musicians to actors have used Twitter and other social networks to express their enthusiasm about this new premiere. Katy Perry, ex-Fifth Harmony Camila Cabello, Hayley Williams, Chloe Grace Moretz, Troye Sivan and many others have shown their excitement because of this major comeback.

Lena Dunham, the creator of the HBO hit show “Girls” and current partner of Antonoff, said that she saw the creation process from the first row and is very excited for the upcoming release of the full album.

Lorde will be premiering some of her new songs during her long-expected performance at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival to be held in California next April.
