Last Friday, Nintendo released The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s first DLC. It offers more adventures for video game fans bringing Nintendo’s popular game into a new era.

The DLC pack focuses on survival, exploration, and problem solving, which is basically what made the Legend of Zelda very famous. When downloading the new DLC pack, it offers a list of new items, tools, and quests that users have to look for. “More adventures await in The Master Trials pack! By completing the Trial of the Sword challenge, Link will prove that he has grown worthy, and the Master Sword will be awakened to always be in its glowing, powered-up state while usable. Meanwhile, Master Mode ups the challenge, Hero’s Path mode tracks 200 hours of footsteps on the map, the Travel Medallion creates a warp point, eight new armor items offer unique effects, and the Korok Mask helps locate Koroks” expressed the company about the Breath of the Wild’s first DLC pack

New Features of the Game: riddles and the Hero Path

Nintendo’s the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild mixes the classic with the modern to offer a great and fun experience with tons of new adventures. One of the new things of this first DLC is the riddles that help users find tools and objects. They are not hard nor easy to figure out. It is the right balance of difficulty that sets a challenge for players to obtain the items, without making them stress about it because they are working too much to solve them.

One of the new features of the game is the “hero path” which optimizes the exploration. The game also gives players the opportunity to see the path they have gone through in the open-world of Hyrule during the last 200 hours. Most fans of the Legend of Zelda have explored a significant part of Hyrule, but a lot of valleys and fields have not been discovered yet, and sometimes these places hold useful items. This hero path certainly encourages fans to go for a walk in different locations and to explore a little bit more.

Trial of the Sword mode and the Master Mode

One of the most interesting and attractive things about the new DLC is the Trial of the Sword mode which is a punishing dungeon segmented into 45 different challenges. As players start the master trial, all of their items are taken away, so they are forced to complete these 45 challenges with nothing else than weapons and armors that are only available inside of the challenges.

Completing each of the challenges inside of the Trial of the Sword is similar to solving a puzzle inside of the game. It is quite extreme because it forces players to complete all these adventures using limited resources. Therefore, it is not easy at all, in fact, it holds one of the hardest games that the recently launched version has to offer. As well, there are lots of challenges and players can’t save their achievements until they unlock the 12th challenge. So if they fail before that, they have to start it all again. Some have said it is similar to Eventide Island, which is the survival challenge of the Legend of Zelda.

The game also offers the Master Mode which adds a new level of difficulty.

Players already completed the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s first DLC

The DLC was released just hours ago, and fans of the game started solving all the challenges and trying to make it in record time. A Canadian player named Loloup is the fastest player in the world to carry out all the adventures. This user achieved it yesterday with a time of 1:19:07. However, he might be beaten by other players, since strategies can change. The latter is particularly true in these games because the DLC pushes players to have inventory management skills.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s first DLC has proven to be quite good so far, with great new adventures while fitting with the rest of the story of the game.

However, this is the first part of the total DLC of the game. Apparently, Nintendo’s franchise intends to release a new dungeon for next holiday season. It will probably feature a new original story and new surprises.
