A-list actor Johnny Depp is facing divorce paperwork with her soon to be ex-wife Amber Heard just two days after his mom Betty Sue passed away. Actress Amber Heard filed for divorce pledging “irreconcilable differences.”
The couple first met each other on the set of the movie ‘The Rum Diaries” starring Johnny Depp as an American journalist that takes a freelance job in Puerto Rico. The film was based on the book by Hunter S. Thompson, and the movie premiered in 2011.
Despite having met each other in 2009 while filming the movie, the couple didn’t start dating until 2014 when they made their first couple appearance at the 2014 Art of Elysium Gala and later on the Golden Globes of the same year.
Heard and Depp spent a year engaged before tying the knot in February 2015 with a home ceremony and celebrating on Depp’s private island in the Bahamas. Now, three months after their first year anniversary, Heard has filed for divorce.
Irreconcilable differences
When the couple first started dating, sources and even Depp admitted the great chemistry they shared together, despite the 22 age difference between them. Depp stated last year in an interview his love thoughts on the actress.
“We connect on a lot of levels but the first things that really got me was, she’s an aficionado of the blues, she’s very literate and she’s kind of brilliant and beautiful. I’m a lucky man,” said Depp at the premiere of The Danish Girl last year to E!
Several rumors of the couple also pointed out the differences between them, given both of them have very strong characters and personalities. According to E! Sources, both Heard and Depp are “very stubborn and overly dramatic” despite having a great chemistry. Sometimes the couple would go days without talking.
The couple had also been described as the “need my own space” type and when filming a movie they would hardly speak to each other.
Yet, the more strong rumors assure Depp’s family didn’t have a good relationship with the 30-year-oldold actress. In fact, some assure that the actor hadn’t spoken to his mom after marrying Heard and contacted her again to move in his L.A house this year.
“Sources have also added that Betty Sue Palmer and her daughter-in law had TWO sit downs in order to mend the tension after the elder moved in, Sue went on to call the Texas native a terrible person,” says Perez Hilton’s website on the couple.
Heard’s attorney filed for divorce on May 22, two days after Depp’s mother Betty Sue passed away. The actress is asking for spousal support and rumors assure Depp is going to fight back, since the couple didn’t sign a prenuptial agreement.
Depp was seen at this week’s premiere of “Alice Through The Looking Glass,” his latest movie, while Heard has been seen shopping in Beverly Hills and previously at the MET gala, which she attended alone.
