The 46-year-old singer and The Voice judge announced on Friday that she is expecting a baby, excepting that it is not true. It is actually a prank made by Gwen Stefani to celebrate April fools’ day.

The singer posted an Ultrasound photo of a baby along with the caption: “It’s a girl” the first time in the morning. The singer decided to take advantage of the recent rumors about her and boyfriend Blake Shelton expecting their first child together and shared the picture of a fully form baby on her Instagram account. Stefani has three children with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale.

Stefani’s joke was not well-received by people struggling to conceive

Not everybody seems to have appreciated Stefani’s joke. The image soon sparked anger with some of her followers, especially female women unable to conceive.

“What a terrible April Fool’s joke. Shame on you. All those suffering from infertility and pregnancy loss expect better than you. Classless,“ was one of the comments in the artist’s sonogram page.

Other comments said this was not an April Fool’s joke, it was some woman’s dream and that this prank was so beneath her.

There was a comment that even asked the singer to consider deleting this post claiming it was not funny. The woman who posted the comment said she has been trying to conceive for several years and that she has been told it will never happen so Stefani’s joke was just insulting to her adult female fans.

Boyfriend, Blake Shelton responded to the angry comments saying he ignores self-appointed do-gooders who bitch and moan on social media”
