Courteney Cox, 51, and Johnny McDaid, 39, have broken up. Sources seem to report the engagement ended after a 17 months relationship according to E! News. The last time they were photographed together was in August when they both showed up at the premiere of Hand of God.
The couple got engaged in June 2014 after 6 months of dating. TMZ reported that Johnny McDaid packed up and moved back to England after he moved out of Malibu and L.A where the Courteney’s homes are.
It seems that the Snow Patrol guitarist and the actress from Friends had been trying to encounter themselves as they were having problems attached to their different lifestyle choices. TMZ said Cox preferred to go out with friends while McDaid wanted a low-key, private profile.
Both artists were first seen together in December 2013 after composer Ed Sheeran introduced them. In June 2014, McDaid proposed to Cox during her daughter’s 10th birthday party at Jennifer Aniston’s L.A home.
Cox said on Jimmy Kimmel Live! he gave her a little diamond ring and got on his knee and she said joking she wanted to marry in that exact moment because she was going to camp the next day.
The lovers also made posts on Twitter. The actress said the singer had a very sensitive soul. She knew everything was real when she realized he was a beautiful, sensitive, loving person with a beautiful family and a beautiful set of friends.
An insider told HollywoodLife, Courteney was absolutely devastated and shocked about how quick the split happened. The source said they were going to counseling because they were having issues and fighting. Nevertheless, McDaid decided he wanted to separate to focus on his music.
