Hollywood – After months of speculations, Universal Pictures has signed Charlize Theron as the villain for the new Fast and Furious installment. The movie’s production posted a picture on its twitter account confirming the participation of the South African actress for the latest fast which is scheduled for April 14, 2017.
“Our crew will face its greatest adversary ever in our next film as we welcome Charlize Theron to the Fast family. 4.14.17. #F8, ” production wrote in the tweet with the #8.
There are not much detail about Theron’s character yet, but what its is know is that the actress will play a villain. She will join stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson and Jason Statham returning to its previous roles. There has been also rumors of Actress Eva Mendes participating in the movie as well, but we have to wait and see.
Fast and Furious 8 currently under pre-production
The latest installment begins production this summer. F. Gary Gray will direct while Neil Moritz and Diesel will produce.
Gray wrote on a facebook post that he could not have asked for better partners than Vin Diesel, Neal H. Moritz, & the Universal Studios Entertainment family. He added that they are excited to bring the next chapter in the Fast & Furious saga.
Not much is know yet about the plot of the movie. But, there are some rumors the new fast movie will be set in new York City as actors Vin Diesel and Ludacris posted on their Instagram accounts, an image for Fast and Furious 8 with the backdrop of New York City. If it is true, this will be the first time a Fast and Furious film will take place in the big apple.
