Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are expecting their second child 16 months after their daughter James was born, according to a report by People. A source told the magazine that the actress and her husband are “absolutely thrilled” and a second source said fans may be able to see Blake’s baby bump debut at the Met Gala scheduled for May 2.

Lively’s rep declined to comment on pregnancy rumors. Speculation regarding a second baby Reynolds was triggered when the former Gossip Girl star was photographed while reshooting scenes for The Shallows, her upcoming movie. She tried hard to keep her baby bump hidden behind a surfboard and a robe, People reported.

It’s no secret that Blake and Ryan want to have a bunch of kids

But her second pregnancy is not a surprise. Both the 28-year-old actress and her husband have publicly expressed their dream of having a big family. Shortly after their baby girl was born, Lively said she wanted to enjoy the moment but also suggested that James wouldn’t be their only child.

“But I also feel like my first child is going to be the oldest sibling to the next kid, and that may change with each and every year. I’m looking forward to how one baby influences the other, and to my family as a whole, to every single chapter”, she told People at the time.

As for Reynolds, he publicly admitted last year that having a little girl had been a dream come true for him, even though James had brought sleepless nights. The Deadpool star joked in March 2015 that their baby was “allergic to sleep”.

Blake is yet to be seen showing off her baby bump. On Tuesday, she decided to tie a robe around her waist while filming reshoots for The Shallows in Malibu but hopefully she will have a maternity style moment when she appears dressed in a stunning gown on the red carpet at Met Gala.
