Siri mispronounces Barbra Streisand’s last name and the singer decided it was time to change that. She personally called Tim Cook to ask him to correct that mistake and revealed that it will be done when the company releases an iOS update on Sept. 30.

Instead of “STRY-sand” Apple’s personal assistant says first launched in 2011 has always pronounced “STRY-zand” and the singer could not stand it anymore. Siri allows its users to teach her to correctly pronounce the names of their contacts, but Ms. Streisand took advantage of the benefits of being who she is and to her delight, Apple’s CEO agreed the update should be done. The globally acclaimed singer and actress revealed all that in an interview on Weekend Edition Saturday as she spoke with Scott Simon.

“She pronounces my name wrong,” Streisand said, as reported by CNN Money. “Streisand with a soft S, like sand on the beach. I’ve been saying this for my whole career.”

But an Apple update coming the last day of September would be a little unorthodox for a company that normally releases a major version of its operative system earlier that month before shipping the latest iPhones so the latest devices come with the latest iOS.

“So let’s see if that happens because I will be thrilled,” the 74-year-old artist said laughing, according to CNN Money. Hopefully, Tim Cook will keep his promise to have Siri change the pronunciation of her name.

Barbra’s plans apart from trying out the next iOS update

Siri issues apart, Barbra is currently on tour in nine cities across North America and focused on the promotion of her new album of duets, “Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway”. Anne Hathaway, Jamie Foxx, Daisey Ridley, Chris Pine, Melissa McCarthy, Alec Baldwin, and Antonio Banderas are among her collaborates in addition to a host of other film stars.

She explained to NPR that the concept of the album had come to her when she received a version of Any Moment Now, a song by Marvin Hamlisch. It tells the story of a relationship between a dysfunctional couple and listening to the dialogue gave her the idea of Hugh Jackman playing and singing the part of the husband to her wife. She then though it would be even better to have other actors who could sing.
