The vehicles have a very similar characteristic to the civilian version of the power car, yet officers who use it will need to have previous training provided by the company.

Speedcar characteristics

The vehicles will be used by the Italian Carabinieri or military force  which is often confused with the national ‘Polizia’.

The civilian version of the vehicle and the ones that will be used by law enforcements share similar characteristics that include: V6 Ferrari- crafter turbocharged engine, 505 horsepower with 443 pound-feet of torque, Six-speed manual transmission

Special equipment of the pair of vehicles donated to the Italian Carabinieri features an LED light bar, Carabinieri livery, emergency lights, defibrillator, portable cooling units, radio preparation and an Occupational Disease Intelligence Network (ODIN).

The added ODIN protects passengers while monitoring signs of fatigue and sleepiness. Internal characteristics of the vehicle include Police Radio, Tablet computer on the passenger side and Switchgears for the lights and the siren. The vehicles were customized for the military law enforcement with a dark blue paint

Designated drivers

Not all military officers will be able to drive the new vehicles, the Carabinieri will select a few officers that will have to pass a mandatory driving training course that will be provided by Alfa Romeo Instructors.

The Carabinieri will also be provided with 800 Giulietta models and Jeep Renegade cars from Fiat. The American version of the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio is expected at the ends of the year.
